http://www.OC87RecoverYDiaries.com/mike-veny/ Mike Veny, weight lifter, professional musician, ted talker, and mental health keynote speaker, has something to say about what it means to be a real man with mental health issues. As anyone who has ever been afflicted by issues with mental health or has been the friend, family member, or loved one of someone who has suffered due to their issues with mental health can attest to, to hear Mike Veny speak is to hear some very real, very raw, and very poignant talk on the matter. Mike has made it his personal mission to not only talk about mental health issues and how they have affected his life but also to let his listeners know just how he has overcame and continues to overcome and to be an advocate for mental health awareness. He does this through traveling around the world as motivational and inspirational mental health speaker.
In his early years Veny was repeatedly expelled from school due to behavior problems and spent time in a psychiatric hospital on three different occasions. Veny admits that in his childhood the ‘real men’ he idolized were thugs, tough guys, and trouble makers, who in retrospect were more than likely suffering from mental health issues of their own. Anger, Veny says, is a common disguise for depression among men. Veny contends that this is especially true in a society in which many men are struggling to determine just what a healthy sense of masculinity is.
Mike says he has accepted that his battle with depression and anxiety may be an ongoing one and emphasizes that he only wants to be in control of his life. As a professional drummer, he uses his talent for personal therapy, reaching out to others, and for his continuing advocacy for understanding mental health issues. As a mental health keynote speaker some may find it odd that Veny never wanted to be a speaker in the first place. Mike says he’s far more interested in people not dying and only wants to be a disruption that will get people talking about mental health. Until the suicide rate drops to zero, Mike assures, he won’t close his mouth about mental health.
He is honored to have had the opportunity to work with OC87 Recovery Diaries to release this video on depression and masculinity.

Today you’re going to see EXACTLY how corporate drumming team-building sessions can bring your team together.
In fact, in this video, you are going to see a small sample from one of my corporate drumming sessions.
With that, here’s a quick overview of a drumming session:
Your employees are tired of the same old boring corporate team-building activities. And I hate for you to spend your time putting together an event that your employees fail to engage in and benefit from. You don’t have time for that. That’s why I designed corporate drumming team-building games that will get your employees interacting with each other and engaged in the presentation.
With Unleash Your Groove™, every person attending participates in the corporate team-building games and leadership activities. There is no skill level required and they can do it from the comfort of their seats. Drum circles are fresh, exciting, and wildly entertaining. As simple as they sound, they are tremendously uniting, motivating, and downright fun.
Corporate drumming events can be customized to meet the needs of your group. Without a doubt, I can promise you there aren’t any other corporate team-building activities like it!
In short, this video will show you how a corporate drumming event can unite your team in 2019.

#1 Diversity & Inclusion Speaker – 2020 (Actionable!)
Today you’re going to learn EXACTLY where I think we need to start when addressing diversity and inclusion efforts.
In fact, in this video, I’m going to share with you exactly why I think emotional wellness is at the core of diversity and inclusion.
With that, here’s a quick overview of what’s in the video:
As a motivational speaker that has struggled with mental health challenges throughout my life, I am often brought in as a corporate speaker to address mental health for organizations. This makes sense because mental health is a topic that is finally starting to enter the conversation which is necessary to transform the stigma around it.
But I believe there’s another aspect to it. I believe that mental health and emotional wellness is at the core of diversity and inclusion. This is what I speak about as a diversity and inclusion speaker. D&I is all about working together and that’s something you cannot do if you are not emotionally well first.
There are three main areas where emotional wellness impacts the way that we do business with others:
The way we coach others
The way we delegate
How effectively we are able to communicate
I address each of these areas briefly in the video and cover them in detail during presentations that I deliver as a diversity and inclusion keynote speaker. I believe that they are critical factors to consider when addressing D&I within organizations. I don’t believe that we can properly address the importance of inclusion without also addressing our emotional wellness.
In short, this video will show you why emotional wellness should be at the core of your company’s diversity and inclusion efforts in 2019.
