#1 Youth Speaker – 2020 (True Story!)
Today you’re going to learn EXACTLY how I connect with students as a youth speaker (step-by-step).
In fact, in this video, I’m going to show you a portion of a keynote presentation that I delivered.
With that, here’s a quick overview of what’s in the video:
As a person that has struggled with mental health challenges since childhood, I have a unique perspective as a youth motivational speaker. As you’ll see in this video, when I’m talking with students as a youth speaker, I’m not just talking at them. I’m sharing my personal story, including the actual struggles that I went through.
Instead of just telling them about mental health challenges, I walk them through my own journey which included multiple expulsions, multiple extended stays in a mental hospital, and attempting to take my own life as an elementary student. I struggled with anxiety, depression, anger as a result of the depression, and self-harm among other challenges.
School can be difficult for anyone with or without mental health challenges. And, that’s why students need youth inspirational speakers that are willing to share their stories so the students can relate and know that they are not alone. As a motivation speaker, I enjoy sharing my story, even the painful moments, in order to help our youth not have to struggle through the same things that I struggled through.
In short, this video will show you actionable ways I can help transform stigma at your youth event in 2019.

Improving Teaching: Professional Development for Teachers – 2020 (Actionable!)
Today you’re going to learn EXACTLY how you can improving teaching method to help improving the mental health of your students (step-by-step).
In fact, in this video, I’m going to share with you an area of professional development for teachers that shouldn’t be ignored.
With that, here’s a quick overview of what’s in the video:
Mental health is a topic that’s gaining more attention in society. It’s much needed and long overdue attention. The alarming statistics around youth suicide paint a bleak picture for the United States. Schools are trying to address it and teach students how to be mentally well. But it’s also important that you as a teacher or administrator focuses on your mental wellness as well. When you do, you inspire your students to follow in your behavior.
I was that kid in your class that’s always causing you a headache. The one that is constantly acting up and crossing the line. I had mental health challenges, was expelled from multiple schools, hospitalized for my mental health, and even attempted suicide. It’s a good reminder that you never really know what’s going on behind the scenes.
When I do professional development for teacher workshops, I share my personal story so you can see what’s behind the behavior. This can give you a new perspective for interacting with and helping your students going forward.
It’s also important that you address your own mental health. Teaching is a stressful position and one that requires you to have a lot of self-awareness when interacting with your students and coworkers. My sessions address all of this.
In short, this video will show you actionable ways that you and your school can be helped by a professional development session on mental health in 2019.

#1 Diversity & Inclusion Speaker – 2020 (Actionable!)
Today you’re going to learn EXACTLY where I think we need to start when addressing diversity and inclusion efforts.
In fact, in this video, I’m going to share with you exactly why I think emotional wellness is at the core of diversity and inclusion.
With that, here’s a quick overview of what’s in the video:
As a motivational speaker that has struggled with mental health challenges throughout my life, I am often brought in as a corporate speaker to address mental health for organizations. This makes sense because mental health is a topic that is finally starting to enter the conversation which is necessary to transform the stigma around it.
But I believe there’s another aspect to it. I believe that mental health and emotional wellness is at the core of diversity and inclusion. This is what I speak about as a diversity and inclusion speaker. D&I is all about working together and that’s something you cannot do if you are not emotionally well first.
There are three main areas where emotional wellness impacts the way that we do business with others:
The way we coach others
The way we delegate
How effectively we are able to communicate
I address each of these areas briefly in the video and cover them in detail during presentations that I deliver as a diversity and inclusion keynote speaker. I believe that they are critical factors to consider when addressing D&I within organizations. I don’t believe that we can properly address the importance of inclusion without also addressing our emotional wellness.
In short, this video will show you why emotional wellness should be at the core of your company’s diversity and inclusion efforts in 2019.
