Setting Boundaries at Work with Coworkers – PROTECTION
Setting boundaries at work is a challenge for everyone. The real essence of this challenge lies in setting boundaries at work with coworkers. If you struggle to speak up for yourself at work or say no, this video with Mike Veny will teach you how to set boundaries with coworkers and even how to set boundaries with your boss.
Mike Veny is a workplace mental health speaker who also delivers mental health in the workplace training. As the CEO of his own company, he’s become a master at learning how to set boundaries with coworkers at work. If you are looking for a boundaries in the workplace training, this video with Mike Veny is a great place to start.
Learning to set boundaries in the workplace and maintaining professional boundaries in the workplace are skills that most of us aren’t taught. We eventually discover that we need to do this when we become stressed, exhausted or burned out. These skills can prevent that from happening.
Setting boundaries in the workplace includes clarifying expectations. Years ago, one of Mike’s friends taught him that “clearing up expectations on the front end avoids problems on the back end.”. He took this to heart and became intentional about constantly clarifying expectations with coworkers.
Learning how to say no at work is another aspect of setting boundaries. And yes, it’s possible to learn how to say no at work without feeling guilty.
Speaking of feeling guilty, we sometimes feel guilty by simply thinking about the idea of professional boundaries in the workplace.
There is nothing to feel guilty about. It’s absolutely necessary. In fact, setting boundaries in the workplace are critical to your mental wellness and career success.

#1 Youth Speaker – 2020 (True Story!)
Today you’re going to learn EXACTLY how I connect with students as a youth speaker (step-by-step).
In fact, in this video, I’m going to show you a portion of a keynote presentation that I delivered.
With that, here’s a quick overview of what’s in the video:
As a person that has struggled with mental health challenges since childhood, I have a unique perspective as a youth motivational speaker. As you’ll see in this video, when I’m talking with students as a youth speaker, I’m not just talking at them. I’m sharing my personal story, including the actual struggles that I went through.
Instead of just telling them about mental health challenges, I walk them through my own journey which included multiple expulsions, multiple extended stays in a mental hospital, and attempting to take my own life as an elementary student. I struggled with anxiety, depression, anger as a result of the depression, and self-harm among other challenges.
School can be difficult for anyone with or without mental health challenges. And, that’s why students need youth inspirational speakers that are willing to share their stories so the students can relate and know that they are not alone. As a motivation speaker, I enjoy sharing my story, even the painful moments, in order to help our youth not have to struggle through the same things that I struggled through.
In short, this video will show you actionable ways I can help transform stigma at your youth event in 2019.

http://www.TransformingStigma.Com/what-is-mental-health-exactly.html What is mental health exactly. In this video, mental health speaker Mike Veny talks about what the term actually means. Some people refer to it as ‘psychological health’ or ‘behavioral health’. Regardless of which term you use, Mike believes that it refers to 3 things:
1. The health of your thoughts. This includes thinking about harming yourself or hearing voices. This can distort your perception of reality and lead to confusion.
2. The health of your feelings. This includes extreme mania and depression.
3. The health of your behavior. This includes acting out inappropriately toward yourself or others.
If any of these aren’t well, then you are having a mental health challenge (some call it a mental illness).
Some people are of the opinion that your thoughts lead to feelings. Your feelings lead to your behavior. Your behavior then leads to other thoughts. If you look at mental health from this point of view, then you have a framework for taking care of yourself mentally.
Taking care of your mental health can include:
* Seeing a therapist or counselor.
* Taking psychiatric medication.
* Surrounding yourself with positive people.
* Exercise.
* Nutrition.
* Meditation.
* Maintaining a healthy work/life balance.
* Getting sleep.
Interestingly, many of the activities listed above are essential for your physical health as well. Sometimes people like to separate mental health from physical health. Although they are different, they work in synergy.
The link to the article at the beginning of this description contains information about 2 mental health assessments that you can take online to check the status of your own mental health.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Reassurance
Also, check out this video: “Anger Management: How to Control Anger – 2019 – (Actionable!)”

–~–
http://www.TransformingStigma.com As a person who has struggled with obsessive-compulsive disorder for his entire life, Mike Veny shares some strategies and mindset changes that given him some reassurance. To illustrate how obsessive-compulsive disorder affects his life, he does two things:
* He obsesses over things, real or imagined, to a point where he cannot focus on work and relationships with other people. Sometimes it can be a song, a conversation he had with someone, an insecurity, or a sexual fantasy.
* He has certain rituals and routines that have become so automatic and habitual, that he doesn’t even notice them. For example, whenever he goes to the bathroom at home and washes his hands, he then reaches for his toothbrush and begins brushing his teeth. Towards the end of the day, he may or may not come to the realization about how many times he has brushed my teeth that day. And yes, brushing your teeth too much is just as much of a problem as not brushing your teeth enough.
One of the strategies that he has used to cope with this mental health challenge is to hack it and use it for his own good. In fact, this is a strategy that he has used to cope with all of his mental health challenges.
In the case of obsessive-compulsive disorder, he chose to not look at it as a liability, but as a strength. If he obsessed over the right things, like an upcoming presentation or music that he has to memorize, then he will be successfully prepared to present and perform. Also, if he chose to focus on habits that would help him become more successful, he could cultivate healthier routines and rituals in my life.
One of the tools that has truly help Mike Veny’s recovery is the use of checklist software.
Another tool that I learned to use successfully is visualization.
Although he has come a long way, he still has a long way to go. Watch this video for some obsessive compulsive disorder reassurance. And any additional ideas, tips, strategies, tools, and resources are welcome.

United Way of York County Launches Aggressive Campaign to End the Stigma of Mental Illness

United Way of York County’s mission is to build a stronger, caring community by cultivating financial generosity, volunteerism and advocacy. They are connecting people in need with programs that help, focusing on education, health and financial stability.
United Way is kicked off York county’s largest annual fundraising campaign on August 30. They welcomed, leading mental health speaker, Mike Veny to share his experiences in addressing and erasing the stigma around mental illness. Guests also heard from a panel of local mental health experts at this free event.
“You look at people all the time and think they have their stuff together, but so many people are struggling. We had, I think, over 70 suicides here in York County in 2017,” Veny said.
That’s why United Way officials felt like it was time to turn the focus on getting York County residents the help they need by raising money for partner agencies that deal with mental health.
“It shouldn’t be a special subject that we talk about. We should talk about it in a normal voice, the same way we do allergies. If you think about it, people talk about mental health in a very low voice. They want to keep it private. We’re the problem at that point,” Veny said.
