Becoming a Better Motivational Speaker: Working with a Speaking Coach
I believe that the platform of being professional mental health and the motivational speaker comes with great responsibility. That’s why I believe it’s important to always be improving my presentation skills.
I had the chance to sit down with Paul Kreiter, a professional speaking coach, and learn public speaking tips to help improve a few areas of my presentation that I thought could use a little work. In the end, this makes me a better communicator.
To help those of you that want to learn how to be a public speaker, I recorded several of the sessions for your benefit.

Caregiver grief is real and is not selfish. In this video, Mike Veny discusses caregiver grief (how to be a caregiver and let yourself grieve). Learning how to be a caregiver is extremely difficult and learning how to let yourself grieve is difficult, so the subject of caregiver grief is complicated.
For example, you may be dealing with caregiver grief after death, caregiver grief and anticipatory mourning, or you might be struggling just give yourself permission to grieve. Regardless, caregiver grief and loss has so many components to it.
Mike Veny is a Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist®, author, mental health speaker, course instructor and the CEO of Mike Veny, Inc.
WARNING: He’s not a mental health professional. If you are thinking of harming yourself, someone else or are in need of medical help, please consult a doctor. If you are in an emergency, please call 911.
Mike has been mentored, by Jon Terrell, a therapist who specializes in grief work. Mike began a relationship with him after attending one of his emotional healing retreats. Through learning learning to give himself permission to grieve, how to go through grief and how to do self-care for grief, Mike’s been able to support others going through the grieving process.
In this video he covers the following:
* The importance of self care for grief and loss.
* Therapy for caregivers.
* How to set boundaries as a caregiver.
Ultimately, this video is a great resource for supporting a caregivers mental health. He originally created this video as a response to a question on IBDLyfe.com. IBDLyfe.com is great community for learning how to manage IBD. If you’re caring for someone with IBD, you can learn how to be a caregiver with no experience through this site.
