How to Stay Sane Working from Home in a Pandemic – QUICK RELIEF
How to stay sane working from home – what you really want to know is how to stay sane working from home in a pandemic. In this video, Mike Veny will give you 5 tips on working from home effectively.
Like you, he’s been working from home during the pandemic and has developed specific strategies to keep him mentally well. As a mental health in the workplace speaker, he’s learned to deliver presentations from his home and has become a Certified Virtual Presenter.
While this video doesn’t address topics like how to balance homeschool and work, it still offers you general guidance for working from home with kids.
Mike Veny’s tips on working from home include taking breaks, stretching, asking for what you need from others, getting out of the house and sitting with your feelings. This is the beginning of how to work from home efficiently and how to focus when working from home.
* Oftentimes we forget to take breaks during our workday (or even stop working at the end of the day).
* Stretching doesn’t require a gym and can be done almost anywhere.
* Asking for what you need from others is difficult whether you are living through a pandemic or not.
* Getting out of the house is important and needs to be done safely (wearing a mask and social distancing).
* Learning to sit with your feelings is hard, especially when it comes to difficult emotions like anger, grief and fear.
Pandemic aside, these are some great remote working tips that will help you with remote working time management. Applying these to your life will help you to maintain your sanity as we navigate this pandemic.
So if you want to learn how to not go crazy working from home or you simply want some remote working tips and tricks, then you need to watch this video.

Prostate Cancer: The Prostate Exam Stigma Among Men Of Color
In this informative video, patient advocate Mike Veny sits down with Tyrone Brewer, President of US Oncology for Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine division, to discuss the crucial issue of prostate cancer among men of color. Together, they delve into important topics such as the stigma surrounding prostate cancer among men of color, mental health implications for cancer patients, and the significance of health literacy among men of color.
Tyrone also shares his experience working with Shannon Sharpe, a well-known public figure who battled prostate cancer and kept his diagnosis private. Additionally, they stress the importance of regular prostate exams, which can greatly reduce the likelihood of prostate cancer becoming terminal. This conversation is especially relevant as Mike Veny and Tyrone Brewer participated in the 2024 Blue Jacket Fashion Show for Zero Prostate Cancer, sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. Don’t miss this eye-opening discussion about prostate cancer and overall health among men of color.
NOTE: Tyrone Brewer is walking the runway at the Blue Jacket Fashion Show, and Mike Veny was an attendee.
Mike Veny understands stigma well, especially the mental health stigma in the black community. He hopes that men who want to prevent prostate cancer watch this video and schedule a prostate exam.
