Why Is It So Hard To Let Yourself Grieve?
http://www.mikeveny.com
Why is it so hard to let yourself grieve? In this video, Mike Veny explains why it’s so hard to let yourself grieve or even give yourself permission to grieve.
Mike Veny is a Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist®, author, mental health speaker, course instructor and the CEO of Mike Veny, Inc.
WARNING: He’s not a mental health professional. If you are thinking of harming yourself, someone else or are in need of medical help, please consult a doctor. If you are in an emergency, please call 911.
In this video, he discusses the following:
1 – Control and grief. If you’ve ever thought, “Why is it difficult for me to cry?”, you need to understand this.
2 – Not being ready to grieve.
Mike has been mentored, by Jon Terrell, a therapist who specializes in dealing with difficult emotions. Mike began a relationship with him after attending one of his emotional healing retreats. Through this life-changing experience with grief work, he learned that it was less about dealing with difficult emotions and more about working with difficult emotions. Also, he no longer believes that men can’t cry.
The grieving process is extremely difficult. It’s important to learn how to grieve a loss, how to grieve a relationship or how to grieve death. Letting yourself cry is important, but you first must give yourself permission to grieve.

How to Be an Effective Anti Racism Advocate
Today you’re going to learn EXACTLY what you can do to be an effective anti-racism advocate.
In fact, in this video, I’m going to share with you a few things that you can put into action right away to fight racism in 2020.
With that, here’s a quick overview of what’s in the video:
Even though I’m an advocate, I’ve been quiet on social media about racism. Lots of people are sharing where they stand, what they think, and what you should (or shouldn’t) be doing and saying. This is a difficult time and we need real change.
Some of the things that I share in the video about advocacy include:
• Why the days of the angry advocate are over
• The importance of having real conversations with people who think differently from you
• The phrases that we can use in conversations to help us understand another person’s perspective
• Why you may be wasting your time sharing ideas on social media
• Why I love being an American
• My thoughts about why we need our police officers
• The role that listening plays in connecting with others
In short, this video will show you actionable steps that you can take to effectively advocate against racism in 2020.

How to Prevent Burnout at Work: This video focuses on how to prevent burnout at work while working remotely. The stress of working from home is now an important component of workplace mental health awareness. If you’re feeling burned out at work, especially working from home, then you need to watch this video.

He believes that it’s important to have tools for self care at work so you learn how to not get burned out at work. As a workplace mental health speaker, he gives presentations and training to companies throughout the world.
If your home is your new workplace, then it’s up to you to make it a mentally healthy workplace. This makes life more complicated because if your burned out at work, then you’re also burned out at home. So again, watch this video to learn how to not get burned out.
One tip that’s not included in this video on how to prevent burnout is to remember that burnout is often the result of a lost sense of purpose. Getting clear on your purpose and maintaining a focus on it will go a long way to support you in avoiding burnout at work.
